The Blackest Crow

No “original” songs in “The Blackest Crow.” This one is purely a selection of songs and tunes that have been played and sung in the US hill country for ages; most of them have British Isles origins. Emily Phillips and I recorded this at Joe Jewell’s studio in Mountain View in April of 2014. Emily played fiddle and banjo, and sang on one song. I sang the others and played guitar. Joe did the initial recoding and mix, and my brother, David Sandage, added mastering. Emily did the cover design, and it includes a little inside joke. (Hint: Listen closely to the first lines of “The Blackest Crow.”
