Some of my songwriting time goes into efforts to gain some traction in Nashville, and most of that involves co-writing with Doug Deforest. Whatever the outcome of our forays around Music Square (where we have our occasional little victories), I regularly get reactions to our demos that go something like, “Wow, great production – who did that?” Doug operates his Lake Paradise Studio in nearby Cherokee Village, Arkansas and he is, quite simply, a wizard at the production console. He also works with rising young singers from the area, and that affords us a fine supply of demo singers. Works out nicely for me.
